Lasik

Laser Vision Correction is primarily done to get away from glasses or contact lenses for refractive errors like short sightedness, far sightedness, astigmatism etc. This is a very simple cosmetic procedure for those who prefer to see without glasses or contact lens. The biggest concern in any cosmetic procedure is safety and accuracy. Hence all of us prefer a place with a state of the art technology. Nonetheless, it is a mistake to think that technology alone is responsible for the best outcomes. The skill, experience and judgment of the surgeon is equally important as the technology is and Win Vision centre stands out.

CONTOURA LASIK(CUSTOMIZED TOPOGRAPHY GUIDED LASIK) @ WINVISION EYE HOSPITALS, equipped for a better Lasik Surgery in Hyderabad.
We offer different types of laser vision corrections like LASIK with blade, Blade-free LASIK ( femtosecond laser) and PRK laser vision corrections, to provide the Best Lasik Surgery in Hyderabad.

CONTOURA LASIK PROCEDURE

  • A thin corneal flap is made and raised (110-130 microns)
  • The shape of cornea is altered with laser beam
  • And then the corneal flap is replaced.

CONTOURA LASIK is a unique facility wherein flap is made with blade free Femtosecond laser using the ultimate femtosecond laser machine the LensX. This bladeless, computer technology allows creating predictable flaps with the highest level of precision. In this innovative procedure, we use complete disposables for each eye of the patient.

The flap is made using its high-definition image guided technology. img

Now for changing the shape of Cornea with laser beam CONTOURA LASIK is having fastest, safest and precise Excimer Laser -The Ex500. This is a new generation LASIK machine which gives high definition vision.
Depending on the patient’s type of power (Myopia, Hyperopia, Mixed Astigmatism etc.,) Corneal Parameters (Steep/Flat/Thin Corneas), Aberration data following surgery options are chosen by WINLASIK
Wavefront-Optimised
Wavefront-Guided
Custom-Q (Asphericity-Guided)
OcuLink (treatments customised by topographic data from the Pentacam / Oculyzer)
Contoura Vision (treatments customised by topographic data from the Topolyzer).
*Contoura Vision is the latest innovation from WaveLight and the recent FDA study approval is based on the best results yet seen in an FDA study on laser vision correction.

CONTOURA PRK (CUSTOMIZED TOPOGRAPHY GUIDED PRK)

CONTOURA PRK is an alternative treatment in lines of Lasik where no flaps are made. Here usually epithelium is removed using an instrument or alcohol. But in WINPRK the epithelium is removed by laser (Ex 500) there by making it as an all laser procedure. The advantages being the infections are highly unlikely and more importantly with the higher accuracy. Same surgical procedures are applicable as of Lasik Also available is the blade Lasik using world’s best Moria Microkeratome, which is the fastest, safest, and has the ability to cut the thinnest flap of 90 microns flap very precisely and with completely disposable blades. Several studies have proved that blade free Lasik is far more superior

CONTOURA LASIK – Screening

Prior to scheduling Laser vision correction, it is recommended that every patient undergo screening to evaluate his or her candidacy for the procedure. WinLasik has WaveLight® Oculyzer ,is the latest non-contact diagnostic device which picks up all the parameters required to decide the best method for laser correction.

During this evaluation, the patient undergoes complete eye examination with particular attention to issues which could affect a satisfactory outcome or complications from the procedure. This will also help the patient to understand and be comfortable that he or she has selected right surgeon with experience, dedication and commitment.

Lasik does not cure the normal aging process called presbyopia, which usually begins in the 40’s, at which time you may need reading glasses for fine print. This process has nothing to do with the curvature of the cornea, but rather is due to an increasing inflexibility of the human lens. If you are already in your forties or beyond, you will likely need readers relatively soon after the procedure. Lasik is going to make you free from glasses, So whatever vision you have with the glasses ,the same vision can be obtained after Lasik without the need of them.

FAQ's

LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a refractive procedure done to correct nearsightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. LASIK reshapes the shape of the Cornea so that the power of glasses is almost eliminated.

During LASIK, a thin corneal flap is made and raised (less than 150 microns) and the shape of cornea is altered with laser beam after which the corneal flap is replaced. The total procedure time on each eye is around 2-5 minutes. The procedure I done under topical anesthesia drops and the patient is asked to look straight, not to move the eyes and be completely relaxed. The surgeon always help the patient by communicating to him/her.
LASIK was 1st introduced in the year 1989 and since then it has been performed in millions of eyes successfully. It is a very safe procedure with very qick recovery time period. It is the 2nd most common surgical procedure performed in the eye around the world. It is also the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the eye.
There are two types of techniques to raise the corneal flap. Blade LASIK uses a specialized automated blade called the Microkeratome (120 to 140 microns). It is able to raise a thin flap of cornea. Femtosecond laser uses a femtosecond laser beam for making the flap. The Femto flap is more thinner (90-110 microns), smoother and safer than the microkeratome. The decision to use an femtosecond laser flap technique is based on the pre-operative investigations and the surgeon's assessment of the need.
Clarity of vision gradually improves over the next few days to its maximal level. Some patients may experience some difficulty while reading on the 1st post- operative day which soon recovers.
